Marvel's Wolverine is a single-player action-adventure game and a standalone entry in the Marvel's Spider-Man series, sharing continuity with those titles while telling its own self-contained story. Players control Logan/Wolverine in close-quarters combat, using his adamantium claws against enemies drawn from the X-Men comic book mythology.

I'm on a little bit of a list-writing hiatus because it's release season, which means all my time is being dedicated to playing and reviewing hot new video games.
I really love reviewing video games, but these days it feels like it's becoming difficult to have a reasonable conversation. Given the nature of PlayStation 5-exclusive Wolverine, the latest game I reviewed, productive conversations can only really happen around it if people are reasonable and willing to consider the nuanced nature of criticism. This, you may be surprised to learn, is something that is rare on the internet, especially when the subject of the discussion is exclusive to a single video game platform.
I published my review of Wolverine on GameSpot and said that while Insomniac Games' latest Marvel adaptation is far from a bad game, it's also doesn't excel in any respect. The bigger issue, however, is that it also doesn't seem to aspire to. I knew that having an almost middle of the road take that is essentially a shrug wouldn't suffice for a lot of people--you either need to love something or hate it. That's how team sports culture works, and the video game industry is very much infected with team sports culture toxicity.
Because of that, I wanted to also publish a video talking about the thoughts and feelings I had about the game that I wasn't able to include in the main review for various reasons.
