Capcom has been on quite the run lately, with every movie it makes and game it develops cementing its position as arguable the most consistent and reliable publisher of today. After a string of superb to good Resident Evil remakes, as well as much-loved new entries in the franchise, it released Pragmata, a brand new IP that has garnered stellar reviews and a very passionate fanbase. That sits nicely alongside its perennially popular Monster Hunter games, and cult classics like Dragons Dogma 2 and its upcoming Dark Arisen expansion.

Arguably the most unexpected return to the spotlight for a Capcom franchise is Onimusha, a samurais-and-demons action series built on the bones of Resident Evil that, was a new entry, has carved its own lane. I've always loved the Onimusha series. It is, in many ways, where my obsession for much of From Software titles, began--their dark fantasy with a Japanese twist vibe always appealed to me. That's why I was so excited to see that Onimusha was making a return, and featured a lot of what I love about Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

And, to no surprise, Capcom pulled off something excellent once again. In the video below I talk about what I love about Way of the Sword, but use two other games that I really love, Sekiro and Metal Gear Rising, as a point of comparison. Each of these three games do something very specific that I think is really special. Check out what I think.
