Predictably, Wolverine Is VERY Angry
I got hands-on time with Insomniac's upcoming PS5-exclusive Wolvie game.
You might have seen that a bunch of previews for Wolverine, the latest gaming software from Marvel and Insomniac Games, have popped up online. I was one of the people that got to check the game out for a couple of hours and put together some thoughts. If you're into reading previews, you can check out what I wrote about it on GameSpot.
However, if you like to hear me yap about video games it's your lucky day because I also sat down and talked about my experience in a YouTube video that you can watch below. In it I talk about how I actually had a lot of fun with the game and, in particular, found that there was an interesting dynamic in the way Wolverine's rage manifests in combat, and how that translates to the way you and I as players interact with the game with controllers in our hands.
However, I also discuss how the game is also pretty much exactly what I expected, given that the character is suited to a specific type of game design and, also, that framework fits neatly into the types of games PlayStation's first-party studios have been consistently making for a few years now. It's an interesting dichotomy because the game is shaping up to be exactly what it needs to be but that also is something that is very, very familiar to people.
Watch the video below and let me know what you think. And while you're watching, why not hit this link and subscribe? It'll make the numbers go up and we all know that's what makes life worth living.
